No New Posts High Peaks

The roughest parts of the mountains are the peaks and the rocky terrain leading up to them. Only the bravest wolves try to venture up the highest peak. Often, betas take this journey to prove they are tough enough to protect and fight for the pack.

No New Posts Streams

Down one side of the mountains, many small streams flow and thick grasses grow along their sides. Except during the worst part of the winters, these creeks babble all year long. During the winter they are either empty or frozen.

No New Posts Crystal Caves

About halfway up the largest of the mountains, there are a series of tunnels and caved. Small ones have just a new patches of sharp crystals on the floors and covering the ceilings. Near the end of the system, below the level of the ground, there is a huge cave filled with giant crystals. The floors are covered with small sharp crystal, so getting in is a big challenge. However, this area is a very religiously important area, said to be given to the wolves by Lup.

No New Posts Waterfall

One of the many small streams turns into a very small but high waterfall. Near the bottom, mists always hang in the air and a small pool has formed. This place is often used to gather water since the pool is so pure and constantly refilled. Gold flecks can often be seen in the bottom here and alphas often roll in the pool to pick up those shiny flecks in their pelts.

No New Posts Thick trees

In the valleys between the main mountains, there are thick groves of trees. These areas are rich in wildlife such as deer, squirrels, birds, rabbits, and other small creatures. These patches of trees are good for hunting, attracting not only the pack, but cougars and bears as well.

No New Posts Landslides

Right up against the edges of the tall mountains, rocks are always falling down, threatening any who stay too long. Small prey is abundant here, but hunting is risky among all the broken and falling rocks.

No New Posts Forested slopes

In the lower parts of the foothills, trees of many kinda grow so thickly that the only light that reaches the ground is dim and dappled. Prey of all kinds roam here and the shadows keep even the brightest of coast partially obscured.

No New Posts Overgrown Valley

There is a small valley between two of the most jagged of the foothills, filled with brush and small trees. The ground has been worn smooth by many pawsteps, but the plants grow everywhere they can. The pack that lives here shelters among the brush or simply out in the open, close to the stars. Even during harsh winters the wolves stay here and busy themselves in snow dens to hold in warmth.

No New Posts Great River

Many streams from the mountains come together here and form a rushing river that has created a sort of canyon down one part of the foothills. Surprisingly, not much grows right at the banks, but being the best source of water, the bugs are always thick and prey large and small are found at the smoothest parts of the river's banks.

No New Posts Silver tree

In the heart of the foothills among the craggier part, a silver spruce grows tall and its bark has a light coating of the odd moss that grows deep in the caves of the mountains. No wolf knows how the moss got there, but the tree glows at night because of it, drawing the wolves in. They believe that they are closer to the gods here than in any other place in the territory.

No New Posts Thick Forest

This part of the forest lets no direct light onto the ground, but is lit more by the glowing moss found growing on the trees and rocks. At night, this part of the forest shines. Among the twisted roots of old trees, the pack has hug out their dens, and the alphas get the biggest one, among the roots of the tallest tree of the forest.

No New Posts Twisted trees

In the transition area between the dark and light forests, there is a strange patch of twisted trees whose limbs grow close to the ground. This area is very densely populated with prey animals, but it takes skill to chase them and jump over the low growing tree limbs.

No New Posts Young Forest

Surrounding the thick and impenetrable dark part of the woods is a much brighter area. The trees here grow further apart and there is almost no undergrowth to speak of except in the transition area between the two. Despite the simple looks though, there is a system of dirt tunnels that was dug many many years ago through the ground. Some parts have been blocked by growing roots, but others stay open.

No New Posts Shining Lake

Somewhat hidden between the young and old trees, lies a relatively small lake with water that shines brightly in the sun. Like many parts of these lands, it glows at night with moss. Some say it was the place where all of the original moss was taken from before it was distributed to the other packs. This lake is the main worshiping place of tha pack that lives in the oak woods.

No New Posts Wastelands

Barren lands of dirt dominate most of this area. A few old trees offer shelter in their roots for lone wolves who have nowhere else to go, but none of those trees have a single leaf on them. Some scrub bushes can be found, but they offer only small mice as prey. Only a desperate wolf would try to make a living here and would have to travel daily to the oasis just to drink.

No New Posts Cactus grove

This area of the barren wastelands is covered in cacti and used to be a pretty oasis. A few brave wolves may try to get to the tasty center or the cactus, but it takes a lot of skilled nipping and thorns to get to it. Lone wolves often have no choice but to eat cactus out in these lands, so many have gotten good at nipping around the spines to get at the moist insides in teh absence of prey animals.

No New Posts Small Oasis

Lone wolves often try to stick close to this shining pool of blue water. It is the only place in the wastelands that things grow, and, coincidentally, they glow at night. That glow attracts small prey of all types, but catching them can be hard when a wolf has been nearly starved.
